When will the progressives learn that you need to build from the bottom up? You know, like educate our kids properly so they are ready for future opportunities. Handouts based on race, supposedly to equalize discrimination from the past, are wrong.
Back in the 70s, while in the military, I was job hunting for a new role and found that many positions were closed to me because I was not a minority. That was wrong then, and that is wrong now. While we may increase diversity, in many situations, we degrade a business or government office by placing them in positions designed to fail. It is the diverse people placed in these roles that pay the price as they struggle, and people know the person was hired because of race. People are not stupid.
Most Americans know that SCOTUS member KBJ is a DEI hire, and it shows when she speaks. She is in a lifetime position thanks to woke people on both sides of the aisle.
While DEI has good intentions, its implementation is plain discrimination under our Constitution, and when the program reaches SCOTUS, it will be shot down, as it has been over and over again. We need to educate kids in inner cities in reading, writing and arithmetic so they can succeed in life so we don’t need a DEI program. But as we all know, the Unions control the teachers, and basic education is not on the agenda. All IMO.
