So, I’m pro-life from birth to death, so I am against executions, although there are some horrible people out there. If I had my choice, we would put these folks on an island and let them live with other killers. We could airdrop food and provide medical assistance as needed. But that will never happen.
So, executions will go on, but we don’t have to make it public. I like Pete, but this is wrong in multiple ways. He says it will send a message, but what message? It won’t be fear from the Islamic extremists; in fact, it will drive them to another attack of retribution. If we need to execute based on our laws, let’s not make it a spectacle, as this will be. I don’t believe this will be streamed, ever, or we become like some of our enemies, publicly executing Americans in horrific ways. All IMO.
“Nidal Hasan’s execution for a “radical Islamist terror attack” will be streamed live, Secretary of War Hegseth said Thursday. The man responsible for the worst attack on a U.S. military base during peacetime will face a firing squad on December 3 at the same place, same time and same day of the week as his November 5, 2009, attack that killed 13 and injured 32 at Fort Hood, Texas.
“We’ll make sure it is public, that people are able to watch it. People need to understand that there are serious consequences for these types of things,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told a Human Events Daily reporter on board the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.
The Pentagon said in a statement that the military execution would be streamed live.”
