This cleanup is meant to address the thousands upon thousands of visitors who overstayed their visit and then asked for asylum. The thing is, you don’t come here on a short-term visit and seek asylum after the fact.
It seems like all the attempts by the left to infiltrate our country with illegals, as well as anyone who wants to come and live in the best country in the world, are getting stomped as this Administration takes being an American seriously. It is an honor to be American, but the left wants all the haters of our country to join the team. Why? Power is all the left wants, and that would destroy the country we know if they get control. “The Trump administration plans to revoke over 200,000 tourism and business visas for foreigners seeking asylum in the United States, the AP reported Monday.
The State Department will soon announce the revocation of B1 and B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026 for individuals who previously were or are currently seeking asylum, according to the AP, which cited government documents. The State Department will reportedly work alongside the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to implement the revocations.
“We are coordinating with DHS to identify and revoke the nonimmigrant visas of foreigners who have come to the United States claiming to be short-term visitors, but then file for asylum to stay here permanently,” State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott told the AP.
The AP noted that this would be the largest mass visa revocation in U.S. history and would likely face legal challenges.
Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau wrote in a lengthy X post Monday that Americans are “fed up” with fake asylum claims, stating that the system has “long been swamped by frivolous asylum claims,” creating years of lead time for applicants during which foreigners can “otherwise put down roots in our country.”
