The days of crossing the aisle are gone with the advent of a new mental disorder - TDS. I don’t think the Democrats can get over the idea that anything Trump is bad and fight him until his term is over.
The only reason bipartisanship is being discussed is that the Democrats are in trouble, big trouble, with the DSA running the show with a platform of antisemitism front and center. This puts the moderate Democrats in the middle because if they support Israel, they will be attacked from within the party. The only question with the Democrats at this time is whether the party platform will be anti-Israel or not.
We need bipartisanship for sure, but we have a bigger issue: the push for communism being in the limelight, with many supporters wearing blinders. We cannot go down this path. All IMO.

If all goes according to plan, the chamber could pass two or three bipartisan bills before it adjourns on Aug. 6 or 7 until after Labor Day.
Republican leaders hope that after two record government shutdowns this Congress, Democrats help pass a stopgap bill to fund the government through the midterm elections this fall.

Democrats, indeed, say they’re open to a deal. Top appropriators are in the midst of negotiating one.
Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, said he supports the talks and “we’ll see what happens.”
