It seems I’m not the only one seeking equality when it comes to reparations, as if the U.S. is responsible for this common worldwide event of slavery.
Slavery has been around forever, and you can pick and choose from a menu of events and who is responsible for reparations. As this article brought up, what about reparations for 9/11 or the Trans-Saharan slave trade that occurred before the Atlantic Slave trade started? Many Europeans were caught up in this event as well, which is not discussed. Who is responsible, and who pays if reparations become a political issue?
What about the Egyptians or Romans abusing and killing massive numbers of slaves? People need to wake up to reality and squash these socialist tries at redistributing money by political promises. Slavery is wrong in all situations, and picking one from history to go after is as well. We need not pay anyone, but maybe the payment should go back to the government for all the services those seeking reparations have used over history, or all the money provided to support black communities, which all seemed to go down the drain. Reparations are wrong. All IMO.

As with all things on the Left, their logic — and I use that term very loosely here — is baffling. The career criminal who stabbed a guy in the park is not responsible for his actions, because reasons. But somehow I, and my sons, are responsible for every bad thing that happened throughout the history of the Western world again, because reasons.
But I am also a big fan of holding the Left to its own standards, no matter how twisted and illogical they are. That’s why I had to laugh when Will Chamberlain turned the reparations argument on its ear. See, Abdul El-Sayed — who got walloped among black voters in Detroit — is pandering to them by calling for reparations. Chamberlain, wisely, pointed out that using El-Sayed’s own logic, Muslims owe reparations for 9/11.
Pay up, Abul.

I get that playing dumb is Hasan’s thing, but it’s clear Chamberlain was applying El-Sayed’s own logic to a different group. But more to the point, there are many left-wing pundits who blame Jews for everything from bad weather to the non-existent “genocide” in Gaza. Hasan Piker has repeatedly threatened American Jews for supporting Israel and its “genocide,” saying they’ll be subjected to violence if they don’t denounce the one Jewish safe space in the world.”
