I’m sure what I will present has occurred with many old folks, or maybe not. You can decide for yourself.
The other day, I went to Lowes, a place I always go to. Sometimes, even twice on the same day, because I forgot something on the first trip. But I know this is not because I am old; my son-in-law often goes back and forth to Lowes. To continue with the story, I am very familiar with the layout at Lowes, which is almost my second home. In fact, my favorite place in Lowes is the same as at home: the bathroom. It's a comfortable pondering place :-).
It seems every time I go to Lowes I have to poop. I know that’s TMI, but I have no other way of telling the story. I have no clue why, but I get a bowel movement every time I go to Lowes. When I go to Lowes with my wife, all I have to say is, “You know where I’m going,” and she gives me her wife's look as I walk away to my favorite spot. I am unsure what kicks off my bowel movement every time I go to Lowes, but if I ever find out, I will let you know. It might come in handy.
Back to my story, I am explaining a shopping experience where I lost my cart, which I left in the plumbing area with a couple of items in the cart. Why? I had to poop. Lo and behold, when I returned, my cart was missing. What a disappointment. I usually take my cart to the bathroom and leave it outside the door, but this time, I do not.
Now, I know I’m old and a bit forgetful, but I remembered I was in the plumbing vicinity. I walked up and down aisle after aisle and never found my cart with the products that I wanted to buy. I went all over the store looking for my cart because it was bugging me that I could not find it. After all the searching, I did not find my cart or the products that were in the cart lying around. I don’t know if an employee took it and returned the products to the shelves or if a customer took the cart and put the products on a shelf somewhere. I’ve had my cart taken before, but only when it was empty, never when I had products in the cart.
To this day, I don’t know what happened to the cart, which bothers me a bit, but not much. Being old I realize it is probably me and something I did or didn’t do. I’m over this event but thought I would share. I hope you enjoyed the short story even though it was a bit lame, but I’m sure others have had the same type of situation.
