As the story says, this will be a clown show, with a clown leading the investigation. AG James will make the result what she wants it to be based on public opinion, not law.
This will be very interesting to watch because I don’t know how this will go, just like the Clancy case, where I believe a woman on the jury tried to send a message about postpartum issues and mothers killing babies. But they ignored the laws, and only one person stood tall. At least that is how I see it.
In this case, it could go one of two ways: one follows the law, the other follows opinion. If this lady consented and there is no doubt about the fact, then under the law it is not rape, but it gets grey because of the drugs. But she agreed to take the drugs.
Way after the fact, the lady comes back and makes this a rape case. Maybe it is, or maybe it isn’t, but my concern is that the law won’t be followed and rape will be decided to send a message. A message of what, I don’t know. My impression of Letitia at the helm is that she will come up with something woke and not follow the law.
I hate this event because the boys, not one of them, stood up to protect this woman. These were not men with strong morals but a group that went too far. Why would a woman go back to a frat house by herself? Where were this woman’s friends to stop her? So many whys that have to be researched for this case, something that should not have happened. No matter how sick this sounds, if the woman went willingly, took drugs willingly and had sex willingly, how would you decide? By law or opinion of the event? Wait for all the information to come out before deciding. All IMO.
“The Cornell rape story is already primed to go off the rails for a variety of reasons, not least because every white liberal is jonesing for the accused to be found guilty, even though nothing has been hashed out in court. The evidence hasn’t been fully analyzed, and what was presented when this incident occurred two years ago wasn’t sufficient for authorities to press charges. And the person New York Gov. Kathy Hochul appointed to helm this investigation is bound to make a hash of it—it’s Attorney General Letitia James. She’s been appointed special prosecutor (via NYT)”
