AOC and Ayanna Pressley should be charged with something because this lie is so blatant and racist, taking what are classified as suicides as being lynchings by whites, of course. But that is not the case and in the one incident that might have been a lynching was done by a black suspect.
If everything is racist, nothing is racist, and that is sad because when racism really occurs, it is ignored. The Democrats are the blacks’ worst nightmare and need to wake up and get off the progressive plantation, which many are already doing. Liberal whites no longer stand up for minorities; it is all about them and guilt trips. Stop the insanity. All IMO.
“A group of prominent Democrats has asked the FBI to investigate a series of hangings involving black people, and the most prominent member of the progressive wing of the party — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York — has called the series of incidents “modern-day lynchings.”
But is that true? Here’s what we know.
The call for an investigation was first reported on Thursday, when The Grio said that “nearly 60 Democrats” had sent a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel asking him to investigate the hangings.
The letter was sent from the office of Democratic Rep. Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts — who, like Ocasio-Cortez, is a member of the so-called “Squad” of far-left lawmakers in the House.
“We are extremely alarmed by reports of Black people found hanging from trees in numerous states throughout our country. The series of deaths raise significant suspicion of foul play given the role of lynching in our nation’s history. Therefore, we write to urgently demand a thorough, transparent, and comprehensive federal investigation into every hanging death of a Black individual across the United States,” the letter read.
“The growing number of Black people found hanging in public is a national crisis. A recent report documented more than 70 modern-day lynchings in the United States between 2000 and 2025. In 2026 alone, there have already been at least 10 reported hangings of Black people. They were as young as 18 years old and lived in different parts of the country, including Mississippi, Michigan, and New York. Each of their deaths should be treated with the utmost seriousness and investigated without bias by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).”
Pressley was more blunt on social media.
“Black folks are being found hanged in America,” she said. “This is a national crisis and we CANNOT stand by while strange fruit hangs from trees across the country. We’re demanding a federal investigation NOW so we can stop modern-day lynchings.”
Ocasio-Cortez echoed this, saying that “there have already been 10 reported hangings of Black people in the U.S.” and that she was “proud to have signed” Pressley’s letter in order to “address these widespread modern-day lynchings and put a stop to this racial terror.”
The problem is that the vast majority of these deaths were ruled suicides — and the one where the case is being investigated as a homicide doesn’t fit what we would definitionally call a “lynching,” which is an extra-legal mob killing, often in public, generally with racial motivations.
Instead, the suspect in the case is a black man.”
