The Democrats and Republicans own this lifetime appointment based on race, and the impact is front and center. It seems that KBJ doesn’t even know our Constitution, which is not surprising given that she could not define a woman during her hearings. But our Congress voted her in.
Ketanji Brown Jackson is an embarrassment to our court, but that is not surprising if you look around at all the Federal Judges acting as politicians. Our system is corrupt, and that is not a good view for our country. DEI, while good-intentioned, is nothing but reverse discrimination under another name. All IMO.
“Justice Samuel Alito tore into his colleague, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, for issuing a dissenting opinion on a procedural order that clears the way for Louisiana to redraw its unconstitutional congressional map ahead of its May 16 primary elections.
In a relatively unprecedented opinion relating to such an order, Justice Alito indirectly criticized Justice Jackson, stating, “The dissent in this suit levels charges that cannot go unanswered. The dissent would require that the 2026 congressional elections in Louisiana be held under a map that has been held to be unconstitutional.”
“The dissent does not claim that it is now too late for the state legislature or the District Court to adopt a new map that complies with the Constitution. Nor does the dissent assert that it is not feasible for the elections to be held under such a map. Instead, the dissent offers two reasons for its proposed course of action,” the conservative justice continued. “One is trivial at best, and the other is baseless and insulting.”
In the course of her dissent, Jackson incorrectly cites several past opinions while trying to argue that the question of Louisiana redrawing its unconstitutional map is separate from the high court’s determination that Louisiana’s congressional map is unconstitutional. She claims it “raises a host of legal and political questions that are entirely independent of the issue in Callais.”
Despite her leveling serious allegations that the court has engaged in a political power grab, Jackson offers very little in the way of actual evidence or argument. Her lack of reasoned argument appeared to be considered so egregious that Jackson was the lone dissent against the order allowing Louisiana to swiftly redraw its unconstitutional map, with justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor joining the conservative justices in the majority.”
