It is never appropriate to have dual citizenship where you throw out the U.S. and perform for an alternate country. The hell with dual citizenship, it is one or the other, you can’t have both. That is like playing for the Seattle Seahawks when your team didn’t make the playoffs, so you jump sides.
Some athletes compete for another country because they can’t make the cut, and that is laughable. Can someone have three citizenships? Does that mean they can perform with whatever country they want? This is wrong and not common sense. All IMO.
